Generation of the Forest: Campaign to Plant 200,000 Trees in Moldova
On November 16, the Republic of Moldova hosted a large-scale tree planting action as part of the national campaign “Generation of the Forest,” during which approximately 200,000 trees were planted across the country. This initiative was also supported by the Civic Initiative Center for National Minorities through the “Green Generation” project.
With the support of the European Endowment for Democracy, “Green Generation” successfully created a lime tree alley in the village of Corten and a black birch alley on the territory of the high school in the city of Tvardița. The initiatives were launched by the graduates of the Summer Academy 2024, namely Sabia Vladimir, Lulenova Veronika, and Stratyeva Tatiana in Corten, and Gloria Pascalova and Maria Bodleva in Tvardița.
The objectives of the “Green Generation” campaign are clear: to promote civic activism in the field of ecology among young talents and integrate ethnic communities into national projects. These actions demonstrate how, through collective efforts, young people can contribute to building a greener, more prosperous, and united country.
