#CivicActivismHackathon in Taraclia
On November 23, the Youth Center “Vasil Levschi” in Taraclia hosted an event full of energy and creativity: the #CivicActivismHackathon. Active and eager young people, determined to bring positive change to their communities, gathered to develop innovative projects and learn about the importance of civic participation.
The main goal of the hackathon was to promote the involvement of young people from ethnic communities in public life and equip them with the necessary tools to initiate and implement social projects.
Participants had the opportunity to:
-Expand their knowledge: They learned about civic activism, identifying community problems, and finding effective solutions.
-Develop their skills: They acquired knowledge on project development, teamwork, and presenting ideas to an audience.
-Receive feedback: Experts present at the event provided guidance and advice to help participants refine their projects.
The hackathon covered diverse and relevant topics for young people:
-Civic activism and democratic participation: Discussions focused on the importance of voting, volunteering, and community engagement.
-Social initiatives: Participants explored ways to turn ideas into concrete projects that bring positive change to their communities.
-Human rights and equality: The importance of respecting diversity and promoting equal opportunities was a central theme.
This event demonstrated that young people from ethnic communities are eager to engage actively in public life and contribute to societal development. We are confident that the projects initiated during the hackathon will have a positive impact on local communities and strengthen democratic processes in Moldova.
The #CivicActivismHackathon is an initiative implemented by the Center for Civic Initiatives for National Minorities, with the support of the European Endowment for Democracy.
