Youth from Basarabeasca Visit Parliament: A Lesson in Democracy and Civic Engagement
Participants of the ICPMN Leadership Academy from Basarabeasca had the opportunity to visit the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, where they learned more about the institution’s history, the role and responsibilities of deputies, and the legislative process. The young participants explored the meeting halls, gained a better understanding of how democratic mechanisms function, and discussed the importance of active participation in public life.
This experience provided them with a clearer perspective on how decisions are made at the national level and how they impact society. Through interactive discussions, participants discovered the importance of citizen involvement in democratic processes and the role each individual can play in community development.
The Civic Initiatives Center for National Minorities continues to serve as a bridge between ethnic communities and authorities, fostering dialogue and creating opportunities for young people. Through such initiatives, ICPMN contributes to shaping an informed and active generation ready to take part in strengthening democracy in the Republic of Moldova.
This visit represents another significant step in the civic development of young people, equipping them with the necessary tools to become engaged and responsible leaders. ICPMN will continue to support such educational initiatives, encouraging knowledge, development, and active participation among youth from ethnic communities.
